The Polish Center offers workshops and classes on Polish cooking, folk arts and seasonal
customs. The Polish Center usually offers Polish language classes in the fall and spring.

Polish Pronunciation Class Description:
This 10-week program is an overview of the distinct and most challenging Polish Sounds. You will learn how to pronounce Polish letters and words with greater ease. This class is perfect for the beginner!
Classes will run on Tuesdays beginning on September 16, 2025 until November 18, 2025 from 6:45 PM to 8:15 PM.

Beginning Polish Pronunciation includes:
- An extensive practice of the Polish sounds of letters and letter clusters (digraphs and trigraphs.)
- Engaging in recognizing and practicing distinct Polish sounds in groups of similar sounds.
- The focus is the accuracy of distinct Polish sounds.
- Engaging in extensive dictations–writing what you hear.
- Listening, speaking, reading, writing of Polish digraphs and trigraphs, including in relevant contexts of words and sentences.
- This class will help the learner focus on the phonemes, the smallest sound bites of the Polish language.

Polish 1 Description:
We are excited to offer another class with our incredible instructor, Anna Cwalina, for learning beginning conversational Polish! This session is for NEW students who have not taken our previous language class: Polish 1.
Classes will run on Thursdays beginning September 16, 2025 until November 18, 2025 from 5 PM to 6:30 PM.
In this 10-week program you will learn how to engage in practical, simple conversation in Polish with greater ease. This class is perfect for the true beginner!
Polish 1 Conversation class includes:
- A brief introduction to the Polish sounds of letters and letter clusters (digraphs and trigraphs.) For more extensive practice of distinct Polish sounds, we recommend adding Polish Pronunciation class to your schedule.
- Engaging in practice of basic, formal Polish conversation on different topics in each class, including greetings and farewells, introductions, feelings, family, jobs and professions, and numbers 0-32
- The focus is on the fluency of speech in simple sentences.
- Introduction of beginning grammar topics.
- Listening, speaking, reading, writing of words and sentences (simple questions and answers).
- Learning the meaning of Polish vocabulary in the context of dialogs.

This session is for RETURNING students who took Anna Cwalina's previous introductory language class, Polish 1. We are excited to offer another class with our incredible instructor, Anna Cwalina, for learning conversational Polish!
Classes will run on Thursdays, beginning September 18, 2025 through November 20, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
In this 10-week program you will learn how to engage in practical, simple conversation in Polish with greater ease.
Polish 2 Conversation class includes:
- Engaging in practice of basic, formal Polish conversation on different topics in each class, including: numbers 0-100, days of the week, seasons, daily activities, foods, shopping, at the table, the body.
- The focus is on the fluency of speech in simple sentences.
- Introduction of beginning grammar topics.
- Listening, speaking, reading, writing of words and sentences (simple questions and answers).
- Learning the meaning of Polish vocabulary in the context of dialogs.
Polish 2 Pre-Requisite: Students must have completed Polish 1 coursework.

- The focus is on the fluency of speech in simple sentences.
- Introduction of beginning grammar topics.
- Listening, speaking, reading, writing of words and sentences (simple questions and answers).
- Learning the meaning of Polish vocabulary in the context of dialogs.
Polish 3 Pre-Requisite: Students must have completed Polish 2, or Polish 1 and Polish Pronunciation coursework with instructor approval.
